Intentionality – A TransPro Value

TransPro Value #4: Intentionality – I believe that I am responsible for using my time and energy to enjoy the experiences in life I desire – personally and professionally. I believe that I can only do one thing great at a time, to bring maximum joy and value to myself, my teammates, and my clients.

How often do we use this word, intentionality? It’s an interesting word when you imagine the application in the context of a world driven by busy-ness, multitasking, and over scheduling. Without prioritization it’s a challenge to be intentional in driving solutions that achieve meaningful outcomes.

An organization pursuing excellence requires intention towards achieving that effort, which further requires intention in the measurement and communication of those outcomes. The same in our personal lives – which makes this particular value challenging for me. In order to be intentional, we are required to commit to an act.

In the TransPro paradigm we call it being great at one thing at a time.

Try it. Try being intentional with your time for just one day, heck trying being intentional with just one Zoom call! It requires effort. It requires focus. It requires discipline. It requires practice to get good at it.

When we see our client partners achieving breakthrough results, we see them being intentional with their mission, vision, success outcomes and commitment to performance management. They are intentional in learning from peers and benchmarking their performance against others. Intentionality is a challenging value lived, but creates amazing results for those committed to living in their lives and cultures.
