PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A mid-sized transportation organization in southern Florida contracted with TransPro to determine if it was meeting its obligations to provide ADA paratransit service as a complement to its fixed route bus service in accordance with the service criteria and eligibility requirements contained in Subpart F of 49 CFR Part 37, and other related requirements contained in 49 CFR Parts 27, 37, and 38.

TransPro conducted an initial review of the agency’s policies, records, and data, including its Paratransit’s rider’s Guide, eligibility application, prior compliance reviews, and a variety of other materials. TransPro interviewed staff and reviewed documentation regarding agency practices and procedures in areas including the paratransit eligibility determination, recertification, and appeals process; ride scheduling; trip denials & missed trips; subscription rides; trip times; on-time performance; and cancelations and no-shows, including the no-show suspension policy.

TransPro used the records review and staff interviews to evaluate the agency’s compliance with service criteria and eligibility requirements contained in Subpart F of 49 CFR Part 37 and other related requirements contained in 49 CFR Parts 27, 37, and 38 of the United States code of Federal Regulations.
