PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 2017, TransPro was engaged by an Upstate New York municipality to develop and implement a strategic communications program to help diffuse and turn around a ground swell of negative publicity relating to the county’s 40-year-old landfill operations. Erroneous information about landfill operations was being widely disseminated and caused citizens to gather at meetings to protest the policy and programming of an extremely well managed landfill site.
Strategy & Results
TransPro implemented an aggressive public information / marketing campaign to stop the dissemination of false information and clear up mistruths. Within one month’s time, the campaign successfully turned the tide of negativity. Elements of the plan included social media strategy, a direct mail campaign, community meetings, earned media, and collateral development.
